Save a split layout
A split is part of the Space, so saving the Space saves the layout.

You don't need to save a split manually. Once you create one, Step persists it with the Space. Closing and reopening Step (or switching Spaces) restores both panes, their scroll positions, and the divider ratio.
Where the layout lives
Each Space stores at most one split layout. If you open a different page in either pane, the layout updates.
Reset a split
View → Reset split. Step closes the right pane and goes back to a single-tab view.
