Steps
Open Step's onboarding flow
On first launch, Step asks if you want to import data. If you skipped, open Settings → Import data.
Pick Chrome as the source
Step detects Chrome installs on your Mac. Pick the profile you want to import from.
Choose what to import
Tick what you need: bookmarks, browsing history, passwords, autofill data. Extensions are not imported automatically, Chrome extensions install fresh from the Chrome Web Store inside Step.
Confirm and wait
Click Import. The process is local and quick, usually under 30 seconds for typical Chrome data.
Verify and continue
Open the sidebar to see your bookmarks. Open the password manager (Settings → Passwords) to see your imported credentials.
About passwords
Imported passwords are stored in Apple Keychain, the same vault Safari uses. They never leave your Mac.
Importing from other browsers
Step also imports from Safari, Firefox, Brave, Edge, and Arc. The flow is the same, pick the source on the import screen.
