Import bookmarks from Chrome

Bring your Chrome bookmarks, history, passwords, and autofill data into Step.

1 min read

Step detects every Chrome profile installed on your Mac and copies the data locally. Chrome stays untouched.

Steps

  1. Open Settings → Import data

If you skipped onboarding, this is where to find the importer.

  2. Pick Chrome as the source

Step lists every Chrome profile on the Mac with the date of last activity. Pick the one you want.

  3. Choose what to import

Tick bookmarks, history, passwords, and autofill data. Extensions are not imported automatically; install them fresh from the Chrome Web Store inside Step.

  4. Confirm and wait

Click Import. The process is local and usually finishes in under 30 seconds.

  5. Verify

Check the sidebar for your bookmarks and Settings → Passwords for credentials.
